Education

B.A. Electronic Communications / Minor Computer Applications

May 2001 Webster University

My B.A. in Media & Electronic Communications, along with my Computer Applications minor, gave me the tools I needed to grow into the highly skilled, cross-functional tech professional that I am today.

M.S. Instructional Technology

In Progress Fontbonne University

I had almost completed my M.S. in Instructional Technology when I switched to a different job and took a break. I have 2 courses left to complete the degree, which I intend to finish shortly after becoming employed once again.

Experience

Director of Client Education and Marketing

January 2019 - Current EMAS Pro

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role was responsible for stimulating new business and current user development, with the latter being focused on increasing current client knowledge base and resulting institutional efficiency. I administrated and developed the online client educational portal, developed all curriculum and learning content, delivered online and on-site trainings and conference presentations, identified client training needs and recommended custom education plans, and developed Higher Ed thought-leadership materials with SEM consultants. I also administrated and developed the company's commercial website, oversaw and executed all marketing email campaigns (including the development of the emails themselves), analyzed efforts for ROI, implemented an integrated marketing plan including social media, and served as the lead expert on our email building and brand-protection software solution, including developing branded master templates for several institutions. This role required frequent collaboration with multiple teams/departments, intensive priority management, and strategic planning.

Web & Learning Content Manager

September 2012 - December 2018 EMAS Pro

This role was a multifaceted one in which I was responsible for the development of all marketing and educational materials. Throughout these years, I overhauled the online client educational portal, assisted with the development of a competency-based curriculum for client education, developed countless learning and training resources for our users at colleges & universities including instructional videos, training modules, user manuals, presentations, webinars, and much more, frequently trained interal staff, and presented at the annual national conference. I also redesigned and developed the company website, developed branded marketing materials and graphics, developed HTML email campaigns and managed deployment, developed the conference app each year, and managed and administrated the internal CRM database. This role called for a good deal of project management, analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.

Data Manager

January 2011 - July 2011 Webster University

This position was responsible for managing student data and reporting for 86 campuses worldwide, and served the office of Institutional Research (now called OIE). In this role, I designed and completed the first-ever university-wide census report detailing enrollment and credit hours for all campuses worldwide. I also developed and implemented a script that nobody prior to me had been able to produce, which accurately identified and calculated credit hours by campus for provision to the Higher Learning Commission. Additionally, I conducted extensive quantitative analysis upon millions of student records, produced large volumes of data extracts for a data warehousing solution, ran audits to identify data inconsistencies, worked continuously with IT and other stakeholders to optimize processes and outcomes, and collaborated extensively with SIS vendors and programmers to facilitate the development of a new database architecture. This position required deep analytical and reporting skills.

Data Specialist / Academic Specialist

June 2006 - January 2011 Fontbonne University

This was the job that made me fall in love with Higher Ed. In this position, I grew from academic and articulation evaluations to being the go-to reporting guru for the entire School of Options (the adult learning sector of the university). It was here, in the beginning, where I recognized the need for a big change and developed a system of electronic application processing that had formerly been all manual. This system was adopted university-wide and is still in use today. I also developed several script- and query-based data extraction methods which had previously been thought impossible. I provided executive summaries of enrollment data for all adult programs - including identification of longitudinal trends - to senior administration for budgeting and planning purposes, developed content for the Options portion of the university website, served as the key liaison with Jenzabar vendors during the implementation of a new SIS, produced statistics for provision to HLC, and performed extensive process and data improvement initiatives. In this position, I frequently developed instructional guides and technical solutions for colleagues, and was the unofficial trainer of staff over all things technology.
